Updated Blend of Plant and Algal Ingredients

STEMREGEN® Release combines eight main plant and algal preparations in a daily serving of 2 capsules.

The largest ingredient is sea buckthorn extract at 500 mg per daily serving, followed by 300 mg blue-green algae extract and 200 mg fucoidan extract from Fucus vesiculosus. The formula also contains Aloe vera, notoginseng, Malabar kino, Euglena gracilis and black pepper extract.

Sea Buckthorn

Sea buckthorn (Hippophae rhamnoides) is known for its orange berries, which naturally contain a variety of plant compounds, including carotenoids, flavonoids and other polyphenols. This complex composition is one reason sea buckthorn has attracted interest as a botanical ingredient.

Release contains 500 mg sea buckthorn fruit extract per daily serving.

Aphanizomenon flos-aquae (AFA)

Aphanizomenon flos-aquae, commonly known as AFA, is a freshwater blue-green algae. Blue-green algae are interesting nutritionally because their cells naturally contain a complex mixture of proteins, pigments and other naturally occurring compounds.

Release provides 300 mg whole-cell AFA extract per daily serving.

Fucoidan from Fucus vesiculosus

Fucus vesiculosus is a brown seaweed. One of its particularly interesting natural components is fucoidan, a group of complex, sulfated polysaccharides found in the cell walls of brown seaweeds.

Fucoidan has become the subject of scientific research because of its distinctive chemical structure and biological properties. That research interest is why we increasingly see fucoidan used as a specialised ingredient in food supplements.

Release provides 200 mg fucoidan extract from Fucus vesiculosus per daily serving.

Aloe Vera

Aloe vera is best known for the gel contained inside its thick leaves. The gel contains a complex mixture of naturally occurring polysaccharides and other plant compounds.

The new Release formula specifically uses Aloe vera leaf gel powder, rather than simply an unspecified Aloe preparation. Each daily serving provides 150 mg.

Notoginseng

Panax notoginseng belongs to the Panax genus and has a long history of use in traditional Chinese preparations.

One of the characteristic groups of compounds found in Panax plants are saponins, including compounds known as ginsenosides/notoginsenosides. These plant compounds are an important focus of research into Panax notoginseng.

Release provides 125 mg extract from the root.

Malabar Kino

Malabar kino (Pterocarpus marsupium) is a tree traditionally used in Ayurveda. Its heartwood contains a range of naturally occurring plant compounds, including polyphenolic compounds, which have contributed to scientific interest in the plant.

Release uses the heartwood extract, providing 95 mg per daily serving.

Euglena gracilis and Beta-Glucan

Euglena gracilis is a microscopic organism that naturally accumulates a distinctive beta-glucan called paramylon.

Beta-glucans are polysaccharides, but their structures vary considerably depending on their source. Release provides 75 mg dried Euglena gracilis biomass, standardised to 50% beta-glucan, supplying 37.5 mg beta-glucan per daily serving.

Black Pepper and Piperine

Black pepper (Piper nigrum) contains the naturally occurring compound piperine, which is responsible for much of black pepper's characteristic pungency.

Piperine is also widely studied in relation to the behaviour and availability of other compounds, which explains why concentrated black pepper extracts are frequently included in multi-ingredient supplement formulations.

Release contains 1.5 mg black pepper fruit extract standardised to 95% piperine, providing 1.425 mg piperine.
